Jesse Robert Kapela

Jesse Robert Kapela was born on June 12, 1997 in Minneapolis Minnesota. His parents Stephen and Janelle ( Holmer ) Girtz are from Park Rapids. Jesse attended Park Rapids High School and graduated from Park Rapids. Jesse lived in Glenwood, MN. with fiancé Summer Sheldon and their daughter Adelynne. They also have a son on the way, his name is Oliver. Jesse met Summer through a mutual friend, and they have been together for five years. Jesse worked a lot of construction out of high school and was currently working for Brown Excavating. He was a very hard-working young man and gave 100% to whatever he set out to conquer that day. Jesse lived life to the fullest no matter what was set in front of him. He had a contagious smile and laugh. He would do anything to make a person smile and brighten their day. Jesse was always willing to help anyone out in their time of need, no matter the cost to him. Jesse impacted and touched so many lives on his short time on earth. He will truly be missed. Jesse loved to spend time with family and friends. He also enjoyed ice fishing in the winter months when work was slow. When he was not working or ice fishing he was relaxing at home with his daughter and fiancé . He is survived by his daughter: Adelynne of Glenwood, MN; fiancé: Summer Sheldon, of Glenwood, MN; his parents : Stephen and Janelle ( Holmer ) Girtz of Park Rapids MN; one brother: Cole Girtz; three sisters: McKenzie Girtz, Holly ( Kurt ) Wideman, and Heidi Hill; Grandparents: Robert and Kathy Kapela, Harvey and Wilma Girtz, Darrell and Gladys Holmer; numerous step siblings, and aunts and uncles. Jesse passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Wheaton, MN at the age of 24. He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Norma Kapela; Grandfather Lester Wilson; and Grandfather Richard Hall.
