WILLIAM FREDRIC “Bill” ANDERSON
July 15, 1932 – April 15, 2020
William Fredric “Bill” Anderson, 87 a longtime Park Rapids, MN area resident, formerly of Mpls, MN and Sioux Falls, SD, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN.
Bill was born on July 15, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN to Fred and Myrtle (Pedersen) Anderson. He graduated from North High School with the Class of 1950 and then went on to attend college. On October 13, 1951, Bill was united in marriage to Luci Parton at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. Their union was blessed with four children: Gayle, Cathy, Steve, and Bart. Bill began working with the John Morrell Meat Company specializing in wholesale distribution in a career that spanned 32 years. In 1986, he retired and ventured north to Park Rapids where he and Luci fulfilled their dream of building a home on Long Lake. Bill came out of retirement to develop the northern MN distribution territory for J & B Meats, working out of his lake home for another 15 years until his final retirement in 2002. Bill was a long time and faithful member of the Trinity Episcopal/Presbyterian Church of Park Rapids. For many years, he was involved with the Long Lake Association and volunteered many hours helping at CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids. Being physically fit was very important to Bill and he disciplined himself to exercise daily by running, biking, walking, or working out with weights. Taking meticulous care of his yard and home was something he took great pride in. Above all, Bill loved his precious wife, Luci, his children, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all his heart.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and soulmate for these past 69 years, Luci; his four children: Gayle (Joe) Burton of Knoxville, TN, Cathy (Steve) Richmond of Des Moines, IA, Steve (Crys) Anderson of Waterloo, IA, and Bart (Carry) Anderson of Park Rapids; 12 dearly loved grandchildren and many precious great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings: Dale and Jeanne.
Services will be held at the Trinity Episcopal/Presbyterian Church in Park Rapids at a date to be announced later.
