Terry Lee Baldwin

Terry “Baldy” Baldwin, 71, of Park Rapids, MN formerly of Hibbing, MN, passed away on December 24, 2023 while on hospice care at The Cottages Memory Care Facility in Park Rapids after a short, yet aggressive, battle with Alzheimers. Terry was born on May 19, 1952, in Hibbing to Donald and Lillian Baldwin. Terry graduated from Hibbing High School in 1971 where he enjoyed playing on the varsity football team. Upon graduating high school, he joined the Army traveling to Turkey and Germany while on active duty. Terry married Glenyce Hausauer in 1977 and had 2 wonderful daughters, Nichole and Jennifer. In August of 2003 Terry married Bonnie Chiaravalle. Shortly after, they relocated to Cherry, MN and then again to Carson City, NV. Terry was a true lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with loved ones out on the water at Lake Winnibigoshish. Being on the lake fishing was his church. Nothing gave him greater peace. Terry adored his 2 daughters with his whole heart. He learned very quickly what it was like being a single dad raising 2 teenage girls and the challenges that came with that. They gave him a run for his money, but he did a fantastic job and was a true protector. Terry loved riding his Harley while traveling all over the country. He had taken several trips to Moondance Jam and was always listening to Rock n Roll. He loved tinkering in his garage and doing anything involving carpentry work or renovating homes. Terry retired from Eveleth Taconite. As the years went on, Terry became a grandpa and the laughter and smiles continued. He would chase the grandkids around the house and yard as they ran in all directions while he giggled yelling “Grandpa is going to give you a knuckle sandwich!” Terry is survived by his daughters Nichole (Tom) Lind of New Hope, MN, Jennifer (Willy) Holmer of Ponsford, MN, brother Rick (Colleen) Baldwin, sister Joann (Paul) Hoeffler, and brother Paul Baldwin. He is also survived by his grandchildren Makayla Edwards (Alex Hesby), Brendan Kruchowski, Alex Holmer, Emily and Sam Lind, Jenna (Darren) Sunram, Alissa Holmer, Abby (Hunter) Hines, Jerika Holmer and by his beloved cat, Sammie. He also has 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Terry would like to believe he’s also survived by actors Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ryan Reynolds because he recently became obsessed with them and swore the 3 of them were best friends (hahaha). For those of you who knew Terry or heard his stories from his daughters, you will understand! He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Lillian Baldwin. The family will be holding a private ceremony in the summer.
