Susan Marie "Sue" Offerdahl

Susan Marie “Sue” Offerdahl, age 63, of Park Rapids, MN passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Area Health Services in Park Rapids surrounded by her loved ones. Sue was born on November 14, 1957, in Kenmare, North Dakota to Chester and Doris (Aasberg) Danielson. She grew to womanhood in the Dalton and Elbow Lake, MN area. She met the love of her life, Michael M. Offerdahl, and they were united in marriage on July 17, 1976. Their union was blessed with four children and eleven grandchildren who were the light of her life. She devoted her life to making a happy home for her husband and children. Sue also assisted Mike in operating their business, Northland Feed and Seed. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, and most anything that was family related. Sue was devoted to her children and all of their activities. In their early years, she sewed all of their Halloween costumes. She even helped dress up her teenage son, as a woman for school dress-up day “hee hee, sorry Steve!” Sue was her children’s biggest fan. Whether it was Amber’s horse shows, Steve and Michael demolition derbies, or all of the boys wrestling meets she didn’t want to miss a single thing. When the kids were grown up and out of the house, she resumed her sewing and making everyone beautiful quilts. She also became one of Mike’s fishing tournament partners. Her smile, laughter, and unconditional love will be greatly missed. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael of Park Rapids; her four children: Steven (Stacey) Offerdahl, Michael (Robin Ladely) Offerdahl, Amber (Ryan Merschman) Offerdahl, and Matthew Offerdahl; her eleven grandchildren: Truman Crandall, Megan Offerdahl, Jaden Lafond, Allison Offerdahl, Elias Lafond, Brenton Merschman, Evan Lafond, Peyton Offerdahl, Lane Offerdahl, Brycen Merschman, and Regan Offerdahl; her sister, Sandy Formo of Fergus Falls and several nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 9, 2021, with visitation beginning at 1 PM at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids. Her urn bearers will be her 11 grandchildren. Special musical tributes will be “Amazing Grace”, “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “I Can Only Imagine”.
