Shawn (Fuzzy) Douglas Harsha, 27, of Park Rapids, MN, beloved son, grandson, brother, was called to his eternal resting place on December 5, 2023 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. Fuzzy entered the world on July 5, 1996 in Detroit Lakes, MN, the son of Connie (Shepersky) Harsha and John Harsha, quickly earning his lifelong nickname from his paternal grandfather, Rodger, because of all of his peach fuzz when he was born. He grew up in Park Rapids where he attended school, graduating with the class of 2015. Fuzzy was never so quick to accept the limitations that his diagnosis would provide. As a child, Fuzzy would regularly return home with scrapes on both knees and both elbows—one time, even, with scrapes consuming half of his face! He was always highly interested in dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and four-wheelers. Fuzzy always loved the thrill of adrenaline whenever he could get it. Before being bound to his wheelchair, he received a Polaris Ranger from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and spent many hours on the trails with family. Even after being committed to his wheelchair, cousins and friends would find ways to, safely, take him for rides on four wheelers, snowmobiles, or in their cars, so he could continue to experience what he loved. Fuzzy loved spending time with family, cousins, his niece and nephew, but mostly his friends. In the summer, you would always find him out on the town, sitting at a park, or in a garage, always hanging with his friends—and, often, he wouldn’t return home until his mom called him and told him it was getting dark. Fuzzy will always be remembered as a kind, caring, silly soul who loved anyone who walked into his life, immediately claiming them as family. Fuzzy is survived by mother—Connie (Terry Forbes) Harsha, sisters—Megan (Jacques) Lien (nephew, Ozias, and niece, Atlas) and Jenna Shepersky, maternal grandmother—Mary Lou Murray, maternal grandfather—John (Patricia) Shepersky, grandparents – Dale and Donna Forbes, great grandmother—Elaine Forbes, step-mother—Kimberly Harsha, step-siblings—Issac (Heidi) Bartlett and Elizabeth (Nathan) Gerhart. He is preceded in death by his father—John Harsha, brother— Kyle, paternal grandparents—Rodger and Judy Harsha, two uncles—Randy and Douglas Shepersky, and many friends. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 with Father Joe Richards officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Friday morning. A prayer service and a time of sharing will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday during visitation. Shawn D. "Fuzzy" will be buried at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic cemetery at a later date.
