Sharon Rose Crawford

Sharon Rose Johnson Crawford was born January 16, 1936, to Frank & Vera Johnson in Minneapolis. She died March 31, 2023, in Park Rapids.

Sharon attended Anoka schools & Hamline University. Her chemistry major led to work in 3M's research laboratory, where she helped to develop reflective tape. She married Jack Q. Crawford, whose family owned Kozy Kove resort on Potato Lake near Park Rapids; later Sharon ran the resort while Jack worked weekdays in St. Paul. After raising Vallaurie, Tami, Pam & Brad, Sharon studied computer programming & kept systems running for 5 employers. She retired to Park Rapids in 1990 and loved to garden & read.

She is survived by sisters Pat Anderson of San Diego & Lanni Johnson of Arkansas, by daughters Tami Hensel & Vallaurie Crawford of Park Rapids, by grandchildren Erin Hensel, Luke (Justin) Hensel, Brian Hensel and Lionel (Kazue) Pirsig, and by great-granddaughter May Helena Pirsig.

She was preceded in death by son Brad, daughter Pam & husband Jack. A celebration of life is being planned.
