Shane Plautz

Shane Garold Plautz. Age 50. Of Park Rapids, MN was suddenly promoted into Heaven on April 26, 2023 in Fargo, ND.

Shane was born on February 9, l973 in Wadena, MN to Garold and Rosemary Plautz. He grew up on Spider Lake as his parents built a home on Spider Island.  He attended public schooling in Nevis, graduating from High School in 1991.  He entered the United States Marine Corps just out of high school.  After his discharge from service, he attended the Alexandria Technical College where he received his law enforcement certification.  His first jobs were in Ogema where he served as Police Chief and also worked with the White Earth Tribal Police Department.  He then served as a Deputy Sheriff in the Hubbard County Sheriff's Department.  He also taught firearms for S.W.A.T. He also worked as a first responder and EMT for North Memorial for many years.  He was also an avid student of Judo and Aikido and had earned two brown belts.  In his spare time he loved to hunt, fish and cook.  He also loved traveling and above all he loved planning family activities with his children.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Rosemary Plautz of Menahga; four children: Dalton (Taylor) Plautz of Akeley, Tyler Plautz of Nevis, Conner Plautz of Perham, and Caitlyn (Jessie) Smith of Park Rapids; four dearly loved grandchildren: Hannah, Robert, Ezra and Sofia.

Shane was preceded in death by his father, Garold Plautz; step-father, Robert Wallace; Grandpa and Grandma Walimaa, Uncle Eddie; Grandma and Grandpa Plautz and his cousin, Leilani.
