Scott Jay Disney

Scott Jay Disney, 58, of Menahga, MN, passed on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids.  

Scott was born to Delfield and Juanita (Kaiser) Disney on November 7, 1965, in Moorhead, MN.  He attended and proudly graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1984. Go Panthers!  Scott then studied gunsmithing at Pine Technical College in Pine City, MN where he met and married Patricia (Patti) Holcomb, in 1988.   

They soon moved and made Park Rapids a home where they raised their sons.  He worked at J&B Foods for several years before changing careers to work at Team Industries for 15 years, while there he made many lifelong friends.  His passion to create with an uncanny talent in woodworking meant one more career change and the start of Disney’s Wood Works. Scott’s belief was, “if you dream it, it can be made”.   

He enjoyed hunting and staying in the cabin that his parents built.  Walking the trails, mushroom hunting, and trapping are just a few of the many activities enjoyed at this “happy place”.  Fishing in the summer was an enjoyment that he shared with his boys and many good friends.  In his youth, he enjoyed playing baseball, football, and hockey.  His proudest sport memory was being a member of the Park Rapids football team that played in the Dome for State.  Scott’s favorite sport was hockey, playing while in school and carrying through to being an avid fan of “all things hockey”!   

He enjoyed driving and traveling the United States with his wife, where they met many characters and made even more friends along the way.  

Scott is survived by his wife, Patti; sons, Chad & wife Kori, Casey, and Kody; grandchildren, Maddison, Isabella & Husband Logan, Kilee, Delilah, Michael, and Sophia; mother, Nita; brother, Kyle & wife Kathy; sister-in-law, Sandra; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends as well as his very best friend, Coal.  

Scott is preceded in death by his son, Skeeter; father, Delfield; and mother-in-law, Gloria.  

Funeral Service for Scott will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN, with a time for visitation one hour before.
