Peggy Ann Rohloff

PEGGY ANN ROHLOFF April 18, 1937 – May 27, 2020 Peggy Ann Rohloff, age 83, of Menahga, MN, formerly a lifelong Faribault, MN area resident, peacefully passed into eternal life on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga. Peggy was born the 7th of eight children on April 18, 1937 to Harry “Ed” and Laura (Stam) Cross in Faribault, MN. She attended the Faribault Public School system, graduating with the Class of 1955. After high school, she began working as a sales clerk for the Woolworth Store in Faribault in a career that spanned over 20 years. After the store closed, Peggy began working as a secretary for the K & G Auto Parts Store in Faribault, where she fell in love with one of the owners, Maynard Rohloff. On February 18, 1984, they were married at the Christ Lutheran Church in Faribault. In the mid-1980s, she began a new career working for the Faribault Daily News until her retirement in the mid-2000s. Peggy enjoyed keeping busy. She and Maynard loved to square dance and they were involved with the local square dance organizations. As a couple, they served as host and hostess at the Nerstrand State Park which was located just east of Faribault. They enjoyed camping whenever time allowed. They looked forward to being active with the company of good friends; including, Allen and Lenore, Jerry and TaVey, Clarence and Margaret, and Elizabeth Paquette. Due to failing health, they moved to Menahga, MN, where they could be closer to their son, John, and his wife, Linda. Both Peggy and Maynard resided at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga. Peggy endured the heartache and grief of Maynard’s death in November of 2016. She loved visits with her family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Iola “Ike” Cross, her brother, Richard “Dick” (Marilyn) Cross of Faribault and Steve (Jane) Cross all of Faribault; her four step-children: Keith (Marian) Rohloff of Silver Bay, MN, Karen (Byron) Nowariak of Red Wing, MN, John (Linda) Rohloff of Nevis and Julie (Pat) Garafalo of Farmington, MN; her nine dearly loved grandchildren and eight precious great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Violet, Viola, Rosella, and June and her brother, Harry. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Friday, June 12, 2020, at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with visitation beginning one hour prior. The active casket bearers will be her grandchildren: Joshua and Jessica Rohloff, Steven and Emma Rohloff, and Natosha Rohloff. The honorary casket bearers will be her great-grandchildren: Hadlee Rohloff, Hudson Rohloff, Kylie Rohloff, Makenzie Rohloff, and Konnor Rohloff.
