October 19, 1988 – January 14, 2020

          Misty Rae Smith, age 31years old, of Park Rapids, MN passed away at her home on January14, 2020 surrounded by her loving mother and family.      Misty was born to Harry and Renee (Grangruth) Smith on October 19, 1988 in Detroit Lakes, MN. She attended and graduated from Menahga Public School.  Misty enjoyed baking, drawing and being around family.  She found great joy in spending time with her daughter Tayshia and treasured the short time she had with her son Isaac who preceded her in death.  Misty had a smile that would melt your heart and would sometimes be referred as dynamite comes in small packages. 

          Misty is survived by her mother, Renee Smith; daughter Tayshia Nauber; two brothers: Casey and Skyler Smith of Park Rapids; Grandmother, Margaret Grangruth of Menahga; a loving aunt, Roxanne (Shawn) Mattila of Menahga; Uncles: Ivan (Shelly) Grangruth of Cambridge, MN., David Smith of Colorado, and Charlie Smith of Arizona.  She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews; a loving cousin, Bria Haataja; other cousins, and friends. 

          Misty was preceded in death by her son, Issac; her father, Harry Smith; her maternal grandfather, Roger Grangruth; paternal grandparents Harry and Marcella Smith; three uncles: Cary, Steve, and Jason; and two aunts: Valerie and Diane.

          Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, January 24, 2020 at Jones Pearson Funeral Home, 608 South Park, Park Rapids, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service.

          Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN at a later date.
