Mabel Louise Ladely

  Mabel Louise Ladely July 21, 1928 – August 25, 2019        Mabel Louise Ladely, age 91, a life-long Park Rapids area resident, peacefully entered the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at her home where she had been cared for by her son Bill for the past 18 years.       Mabel was born to Otto & Pauline (Welge) Hoefs on July 21, 1928 on her parents' farm just north of Dorset, MN.  As a young girl, she attended the Dorset Country School through the 8th grade and then went on to attend High School in Park Rapids from where she graduated with the class of 1946.  As a young woman, she taught country school at Potters School south of Park Rapids.  On May 30, 1947, Mabel was united in marriage to Orville D. Ladely at the 1st English Lutheran Church in Dorset.  This union was blessed with two sons: Kenneth and William.  Mabel devoted herself to making a loving home for her husband and sons.  In addition to caring for her family, Mabel began a career in banking as a bookkeeper for the Farmers State Bank of Dorset that spanned over 30 years.  Mabel was a long-time and faithful member of the 1st English Lutheran Church in Dorset where she sang in the choir for many years, served as church organist for many years, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, was a member of the ladies quilting group and served as treasurer for the AAL.  Mabel loved horses and for many years was involved in the Tall Pines Riders Saddle Club.  Mabel loved her grandchildren and was deeply involved in their lives and activities.  She loved to travel and had visited most of the lower 48 states and Canada.  Above all, Mabel served her family with a servants heart cheerfully helping them in any way she could.      She will be lovingly remembered by her 2 sons: Bill (Wanda) Ladely of Park Rapids and Ken (Deb) Ladely of Texas; 3 grandchildren: Richard Ladely of Bemidji, Robin (Mike) Ladely of Park Rapids, Megan (Brian) Kotz of Maryland; 2 great-grandchildren: Regan Offerdahl of Park Rapids and Noah Kotz of Maryland; and 1 sister, Jean Gren of Medford, Oregon.      Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; 4 brothers: Edward, Max, Paul and Leonard and 1 sister, Edith.      Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home, Park Rapids, MN.  Visitation will continue beginning at 10 AM followed by the Memorial services at 11 AM Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the 1st English Lutheran Church, Dorset, MN with Reverend Chris Davis officiating.
