June Jeanette (Solvik) Seward, 75, of Park Rapids, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Crystal Brooke Senior Living. June Jeanette Solvik was born on June 16, 1946, in Warren, Minnesota, to Edi and Alice (Wimpfheimer) Solvik. June was baptized and grew her faith at Melo Lutheran Church. June’s father passed when she was 12 years old, so June left school at age 16 to help keep the farm going. June married Leslie Seward on July 31, 1964, at the Melo Lutheran Church and the couple was blessed with two daughters Mary (Stacy) Paulseth and Joyce Godwin. The family farmed for 25 years before moving to the Park Rapids area in 1991. While a member at the Melo Lutheran Church, she volunteered to coordinate many church suppers and events. June also served as a Sunday School Superintendent for three years. She led many homemakers and circle meetings for 25 years. June had a large heart; she would go clean the church on dusty summer days and never let anyone know she had done that. June loved to cook and bake, she worked in John’s Bakery Department and attended Pillsbury baking classes. She created wedding cakes for her friends and neighbors. She had a good sense of humor and loved to visit with people. One of her favorite pass times was garage sales where she would meet people and invite them back to her house for coffee. She liked a nice yard and was proud of her flower gardens. June enjoyed living at the lake and going fishing. June was a devoted wife to Leslie for 57 years, was a caring mother to her two daughters Mary and Joyce, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Abbigail Johnson, Ripp Baker and Landon Godwin, and her siblings Olaf Solvik, Ruth Helm, Muriel Kaml, Butch Solvik, Sandy Schmidt, and Donna Gallagher. June is preceded in death by her parents Edi and Alice Solvik, her daughter Joyce Godwin, and her brother Olaf Solvik.
