Joseph C. "Joe" Conley

Joseph Clark Conley, 80, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on December 12, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. Joe was born April 26, 1943, in Lansing Michigan to Errol and Elsie Clark Conley The family relocated to Akeley, MN in the first year of his life. Upon graduating from Akeley High School in 1960, he joined the Air Force and served for 4 years. Joe was united in marriage to Suzanne Mae Annis on June 8, 1968. They began their life together in Park Rapids, MN and Spokane, WA. They settled in Moorhead MN in 1974 and retired to Lake Moran outside of Park Rapids. After 47 years of marriage, Sue passed away. Joe was blessed to find love again and build a relationship with Barb Rassmussen spending the last 8 years of his life with her. Joe was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with loved ones out on the water. He always considered himself the caretaker of his family and made himself available whenever help was needed. Joe and Sue were the family hosts for holidays, fish fry’s and game nights in which Joe was the silent, but deadly winner more often than not. There was always something fun happening in their home. It was full of love and laughter. Joe is survived by sister, Frances (Conley) Gack (Myron}, brother, Thomas Conley [Rose] and beloved life partner Barb Rassmussen as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Conley, parents Errol and Elsie Conley, sister Kathryn Snow, brother Larry Conley and niece Cari Snow. Viewing will be held at 10:00 on December 22, 2023. Service begins at 11:00 on December 22, 2023, at Jones-Pearson Funeral home with Pastor Sheila Hunter officiating. Interment to be held at Hubbard Cemetery in Hubbard immediately following the service. You are invited to join us for a luncheon at the American Legion in Park Rapids at 1:00pm. Casket bearers are: Bryan Conley, Myron Gack, Ethan Foresman, Zachary Garlie, Samuel Garlie and Charles Andress
