Jerry Keith Sherk

Jerry Keith Sherk January 1, 1967 – January 17, 2019                 Jerry Keith Sherk passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2019 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.             Jerry was born January 1, 1967 to Jerry and Barbara (Benham) Sherk in Park Rapids, Minnesota.  He grew up in Park Rapids and Minneapolis with his two brothers.  Eventually settling in Park Rapids, where he lived until 1990. He attended and graduated from Park Rapids High School and then enlisted in the Army branch of the Military, where he was honorably discharged in 1990 when his mother Barbara passed away.             Jerry found enjoyment in fishing, hunting, and anything to do with the outdoors.  He enjoyed family get-togethers and loved to be any place where people were having a good time. Jerry was pretty much a jack-of-all-trades, and later got into plumbing with his cousin Kerry.             In the last year of Jerry’s life, he was able to reconnect with the love of his life, Pat Bremner.  Jerry spent the most enjoyable time of his life with Pat and her family in Tennessee, during this time.             Jerry is survived by his brothers Robert (Michelle) Sherk of Park Rapids, MN and Duane Sherk of Menahga, MN; his half-brother Kevin (Tracy) Tomperi of Menahga, MN; his step-sister Cindy (Steve) Peterson of Menahga, MN; and his step-brother Tom (Sheri) Holweg of Isanti, MN.  He will be lovingly remembered by his surviving Nephews and Nieces:  Robby and Jadyn Sherk, of Park Rapids, MN; Aydin and Brandon Tomperi, of Menahga, MN; Joshua, Tasha, Levi, Brady and Dani Peterson, of Menahga, MN; and Koby and Kanon Holweg, of Isanti, MN.  Jerry will also be especially missed by his girlfriend, Pat Bremner, of Tennessee.             Jerry is proceeded in death by his parents Jerry and Barbara Sherk; his grandparents John and Mable Benham; his grandparents Bernard and Lois Sherk; his Aunt Sandy Gause; his Uncle Bernard Sherk; his Aunt Carol Garrett; his Uncle Larry Sherk; his Aunt Roxy Hauck; and his Uncle Tom Sherk.             Jerry will be lovingly missed and remembered by his surviving aunts and uncles and their spouses: Aunt Bonnie (Clyde) Jessen; Aunt Diane (John) Hedlund; Uncle Jerry (Mary) Benham; Uncle Larry (Bonnie) Benham; Aunt Patricia (Butch) Shore; Uncle Randy (Kathy) Benham; Uncle Rick (Teri) Benham; Aunt Sharon (Art) Kunnanz; Aunt Cindy Sherk; Uncle Ronald (Karen) Sherk; and Aunt Tami (Chad) Brown; along with many wonderful cousins and other relatives.             A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will take place Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the American Legion, Park Rapids, MN.  A time of remembrance with family and friends will start at 1:00 p.m. with a luncheon to follow.  His family invites you to stop in for a brief visit or spend the afternoon to celebrate Jerry’s life and share memories of a wonderful spirit gone too early.   To leave online condolences or to view the tribute video please visit www.jonespearson.com
