Jeraldine Louise Alajoki, age 80, of Menahga, MN, formerly of Roseville, MN, passed from this life to eternal life on Thursday May 13 at the Nelson-Gables Senior Community in Alexandria where she was surrounded by her loving husband and daughters. Jeri was born on February 12, 1941 in Menahga, MN to Willard and Viola (Warner) Johnson. She attended Menahga Public Schools where she graduated with the High School Class of 1959. That same summer, Jeri’s life was made busy in her role as being selected as the Blueberry Queen of the Menahga Mid-Summer festival. On July 15, 1960, Jeri was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, William Alajoki in Menahga. Their life together was blessed with three daughters: Robin, Kimberly and Kristina. The newlyweds made their home in Roseville, MN where Jeri devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and daughters. In addition, to caring for her family, she invested herself into a 30 year career working for the Gould National Battery Company in St. Paul, MN. For the past 20 years, Jeraldine and William have made their home and lives together back to their home town roots on the family farm west of Menahga. Jeri loved to collect antiques and she and William had special front seats reserved for them at many an auction where they pursued their search of antique treasures; especially, adding to Jeri’s antique doll collection. She loved all animals; but especially felt a heart connection to horses, her cats and her beloved dog companion, Elvis. She loved to travel and she and William made many precious memories traveling the western United States in the family motor home with their young daughters. Above all else, Jeri loved time spent with her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband and soulmate for these past 61 years, William; her two daughters: Kimberly (Dave) Imholte of Willow River, MN and Kristina Murphy and her fiancé, Tim Novak of North Branch, MN; her four dearly loved grandchildren: Justin Murphy, Amanda Murphy, Alexandra (Wesley) Lovas and Austin (Jaimee) Gordon; her five precious great grandchildren: Hunter, Hayley, Layla, Meea and Zeppelin. Jeri joins her loved ones already in heaven including her parents, her first born daughter, Robin and her dearly loved step-dad, Arvid Erickson. Private family funeral services are being planned. She will be buried in the family plot in the Alajoki Cemetery near Menahga.
