JASON WILLIAM ROBERTS February 9, 1978 – July 28, 2020 Jason William Roberts, age 42, of Park Rapids, MN, died tragically from injuries sustained in a motorcycle/deer collision on state highway 34 east of Park Rapids on July 28, 2020. Jason was born on February 9, 1978 in St. Paul, MN to William and Mary (Arvis) Roberts. He grew through his early boyhood years in Cottage Grove, MN, before moving to Park Rapids at the age of 16. He attended high school in Park Rapids graduating with the Class of 1996. As a young man, Jason took up the machinist trade and with his mechanical aptitude and talents, he found this work rewarding and fulfilling. He was united in marriage to Amber Parsons and they were blessed with a son, Cole William Doyle Roberts. After his marriage ended, he met Shaloi Hagen and he was blessed with a second son, Monty Hagen. Jason loved all things mechanical. He enjoyed the challenge of rebuilding and artistically restoring automobiles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and using his mechanical talents to repair all types of vehicles and equipment. Jason also had a tender and creative side. He enjoyed raising beautiful flowers into colorful splendor for all to see and enjoy. For the past many years, Jason has lived with his fiancé, Anna Hochstatter of Park Rapids, and helped her raise her two sons: Chase and Lane Monaghan who he loved as his own. He will be lovingly remembered by his oldest son, Cole Roberts of Park Rapids and his youngest son, Monty Hagen of Fargo, ND; his five siblings: Cindy (Rick) Bachrodt of Cottage Grove, MN, JoJo (Scott) Ganther of South St. Paul, MN, Sheryl (Dave) Bock of Brainerd, MN, Scott (Michele) Roberts of Mound, MN and Daniel Roberts of CO, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who he loved as family. Jason was preceded in death by both his parents; a brother, Bruce Horstman and a sister, Julie Horstman and all of his grandparents. A celebration of his life will be held at the Heartland Park, Pavilion #3 on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 2 – 5 PM.
