Janet Claire Nickerson

Janet passed away on July 31, 2021 at 84 years of age. Janet Claire (DeWandeler) Nickerson was born in 1936 to Frank and Elvira (Jordan) DeWandeler in Park Rapids, MN. She grew up on the Pondsford Prairie and graduated from Park Rapids High School. After graduating Janet moved to Minneapolis, MN where she worked at Northwest Airlines. This is where she met Dennis Nickerson. On January 9, 1960, Janet and Dennis were united in marriage. They were blessed with two sons, Warren and Arlan. The family enjoyed many activities together and attended many threshing shows throughout the years. They moved frequently, as Dennis' work took them in many directions. Janet enjoyed teaching ceramics in her home. She was a talented artist, a gifted musician and was generous in sharing her talents with family and friends. Left to cherish her memories are her husband Dennis; sons: Warren (Carolyn) Nickerson; Arlan (Melinda) Nickerson; sisters: Connie (Martin) Nevela; Cynthia (Jerry) Aho; Ruthie Pachel; sister-in-law: Karen DeWandeler; many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Preceding her in death are her parents: Frank and Elvira DeWandeler; brothers: Lewis DeWandeler; Joel DeWandeler; brother-in-law Clint Nickerson; sisters-in-law: Bette DeWandeler and Maxine Fish.
