Jenny Lee Warne, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2022. She peacefully went to sleep at her home in rural Nevis, MN and woke up in her eternal home.
Jenny Lee was born on January 27, 1944, in Park Rapids, MN, the first-born child of Ernest “Bud” Mack and Genevieve (Ladely) Mack. She attended school in Park Rapids, and Bemidji, MN, where her family lived for seven years. Jenny Lee was a 1962 graduate of Park Rapids High School. She attended one year of college at Bemidji State College.
In 1963 she was married to Gordon Anderson. That union was blessed with two sons, Scott in 1964 and Robb in 1965. The marriage ended in divorce and Jenny Lee became a working single parent caring for two young children. She was hired as a draftsperson for Guerdon Industries, a mobile home manufacturer, in Madison, SD. It was there that she met and then married Lowell Warne on March 31, 1973. He adopted Scott and Robb in 1976. The family lived in Brookings, SD for a year and then in 1974 purchased the Ladely family farm, located north of Dorset, MN, from Jenny Lee’s grandmother.
In addition to taking care of the family and helping on the farm, Jenny Lee worked at Mack’s Stockade, Gulbranson’s Equipment and for many years at CSI St. Joseph’s Health in the Hospice and Home-Health Care Department until her retirement in 2009.
Jenny Lee loved to read and sew. She loved rock and roll music and would turn it up to sing and dance with abandon. Her spunky personality and joy for life was contagious. She adored her family; sharing her time, energy, and love with them. But above all she cherished her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of her sins in 1974 in the baptistry at the Park Rapids Church of Christ building and she was a member until her death.
In 2009, Jenny Lee was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease. It was a devastating blow to a woman who was so intelligent and strong, but she handled the situation with such grace and trust in the Lord. In 2011 she faced another difficult diagnosis, when they discovered she had lung cancer. She almost decided to not treat the cancer; but went ahead with treatment after a family meeting and prayer. She had surgery to remove part of her lung, as well as radiation treatment, and was declared cancer-free. But there was no overcoming the Alzheimer’s and more of her mind slipped away each year. But the one thing she did remember and would state often, “O God, You are my God, and I will ever praise You!”
Jenny Lee is lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 50 years, Lowell Warne. Her sons Scott (Patty) Warne and Robb Warne of Park Rapids, MN. Her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her sister Sharon Condiff and brother Ernie (Gloria) Mack. As well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Jenny Mack and brother-in-law Tom Condiff.
A memorial service will take place on October 1, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Park Rapids Church of Christ building (707 Main Ave. N) a luncheon will follow in the basement fellowship area.
