Gene Dormanen

Gene Gustaf Dormanen was born on February 1, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN to Theodore and Florence (Bellika) Dormanen. He attended and graduated school in Osseo, MN. After graduating high school, Gene worked as a welder. He moved to Park Rapids and Worked at various businesses welding. His last employer was Renneberg Hardwoods. Gene worked until an illness and then he retired. Gene played and coached local softball teams. He continued his friendship with many of his “Hurricane” teammates. Gene loved the Vikings, Twins, hunting in Wyoming, drag racing his mustang, listening to his record collection, and hosting parties in his garage. Left to cherish his memories are his siblings: Dwight ( Tanya) Jaworski of Henning, MN, Verna Dormanen of Park Rapids MN, Janet ( Bruce ) Thomas of Siren WI, Carol Edberg of Deer Creek, MN, Margie ( Mark) Vik of of Park Rapids MN, Sandy ( Seth Marlett of Park Rapids MN; his son: Bradley Dormanen of Saco Maine; one grandchild; Mathew; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Gene passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena at the age of 67. Preceded in death by his parents: Theodore and Florence (Bellika) Dormanen and his brothers-in-law: Earl Edberg.
