Gary Lee Richardson, Sr., age 63, of Park Rapids, MN, started his spiritual journey on Friday, March 7, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
Gary was born on January 14, 1962, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of the late George and Geraldine (Beaulieu) Richardson, Sr.. He was raised and attended school in Minneapolis until joining the Job Corps in Montanna, where he earned his GED and was trained as a concrete finisher. He then returned to Minneapolis where he worked as a private contractor as a concrete finisher. He met Cynthia Kappenman and they had their daughter, Carmen. He later married Christine Greer and they had a son, Gary “Jimmy” Richardson, Jr.. He lived and worked in Mankato, MN, and moved to Park Rapids, MN, where he was semiretired working various concrete finishing jobs when needed. In his free-time, he enjoyed fishing, listening to music, crafting beadwork, carving pipestone and antler, and watching the Vikings, Twins, and Wild. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with family and friends and being a Grandpa.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Carmen Arellano; son, Gary Richardson, Jr.; 6 grandchildren; brothers, George, Jr., and Gordon Richardson; sister, Gwendolyn Tipton; and special niece, Jade “Chicken Wing” Tipton; as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Geraldine (Beaulieu) Richardson, Sr., and infant sister, Rose Marie Richardson.
