Florence Ellen Hensel

Florence Ellen Hensel at the age of 103.8 years died on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Diamond Willow Assisted Living Center in Park Rapids. 

Florence was born November 15, 1919, to Joseph and Emilia Olson. She married Herbert S. Hensel, son of William and Mary Hensel on May 8th, 1948. Four children were born to this union: Donald Ray, Matthew Alan, Carol Louise Leacox, and Ellen Beth Hensel. 

She is survived by two sons and one daughter; six grandsons and six granddaughters; twenty-nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in law and many nieces and nephews. 

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; her daughter, Carol; her son-in-law, Roger; her grandson-in-law, Gerry; her parents and parents-in-law; her five sisters and her brother.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Monday, September 18, 2023 with Father Joe Richards officiating.  Visitation will run from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday, September 17 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service Monday morning. Rosary will begin at 7:30 PM on Sunday during visitation.
