Eugene Stewart “Stew” Tate, age 76, a Sebeka, MN area resident, passed from this life to eternal life from Covid on, December 21, 2021 at Tri County Hospital in Wadena, Minnesota. Stew was born on March 02, 1945, in Phoenix, Arizona to Eugene and Patricia ( Blaine) Tate. He served in the United States Navy as a Gunnersmate on the U.S.S. Piedmont from 1962-1966. After receiving his honorable discharge, he worked in various agricultural jobs, eventually farming in Dougherty, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Joan Beguelin on January 1, 1970 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Sheryl and Blaine. In 1971, Stew and Joan moved to rural Sebeka where they bought a farm. Stew enjoyed reading, watching Westerns, gun smithing, prairie dog hunting, and being outdoors in his woods. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan (Beguelin)Tate of Sebeka, MN, Children; Sheryl ( Cory ) Porter of Parker, CO, Blaine (Jill ) Tate of Ava MO, step-mother Myrt Tate of Corpus Christi, TX., sister, Onie Tate of Rice Lake WI, half siblings, Peggy, Michael, and Raylene, ten grandchildren; Kellen, Lilly (Simon), Robin, Carley, Nathaniel, Mackinley, Halaina, Henry, Hadley, Gavin, and two great grandchildren; Kyle and Hazel. A Celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday January 01, 2022, at Assembly of God Pinewood Church in Menahga, MN.
