Eileen M Pulju

Eileen Myrtle Pulju, age 86, of Menahga, Minnesota, peacefully slipped from this life to eternity on July 15, 2023, at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home located in Menahga, MN.

Eileen was born in Minneapolis on August 22, 1936, to Gunnar and Mildred (Isaacson) Berglund.  She lived in Minneapolis, MN until her junior year of high school when she moved in with her Aunt and Uncle, Myrtle and Aarne Wisuri. She graduated from Menahga High School in 1954.  She went off to attend college at Concordia of Moorhead, MN for a year. 

On August 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Floyd Pulju. They were blessed with four children: Greg, Lori, Colleen, and Jeff. She committed her life to making a loving home for her and children. Eileen worked out of her home for the Honeywell Corporation for 20 years and the Minneapolis Post Office for 10 years.  In the early 1970’s she moved back to Menahga and opened a clothing store that she owned and operated for a couple of years. In the mid 1990’s she and Floyd retired, moved back to Menahga, and built their dream log home. During the winter they resided in Arizona. In October 1997 she tragically lost her daughter Colleen.  In 2008 she lost her husband Floyd.   Eileen lived at their Menahga home until failing health caused her to become a resident of the Green Pine acres Nursing Home in 2021.

Eileen was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, she loved to play cards with family and friends, and loved to play bingo and yahtzee. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lori of Monticello; and her sons: Greg of Park Rapids and Jeff (Destiny) of Longmont, CO; six dearly loved grandchildren: Jennifer, Sara, Corrie, Jacob, Joshua, and Morgan. Seven precious great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her daughter, Colleen; her sister, Sandy.
