Dennis Sagedahl, 82 years of age, passed away from Alzheimer’s on Monday, August 12th, at Diamond Willows Assisted Living in Park Rapids, MN. He was born on March 25th, 1942, in Brooten, Minnesota, to Hattie and Henry Sagedahl. Dennis is survived by his sister Betsey Isane, his two daughters, Amy (Dwight) Villars and Kari (Trevor) Frank, and his grandchildren Annelie Frank, Cassandra Frank, and Tanner Frank; three sisters in law (Sharon Miller), (Marybeth Erickson), and Flavia Sagedahl. In addition to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Deanna Sagedahl, and his brother, Desmond Sagedahl.
Dennis graduated from Brooten High School in 1960 where he excelled in sports, basketball being his favorite. After high school he went on to study at Northwestern Bible College. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was an uplifting and joyful person. Dennis was incredibly social and enjoyed visiting with everyone. He not only cherished his family and friends but also had a deep passion for the great outdoors. An avid fisherman, Dennis was the person to call when you wanted to know where the fish were biting.
He devoted 41 years of his life to Ford Motor Company, starting at the age of 18 and working in various roles, but his most memorable were the last years he spent working in the Phosphate Division.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 19th, at River Valley Church, 5595 Westwood Ave, Mound, MN. There will be a luncheon immediately following the ceremony.
A private Interment will take place in Park Rapids, MN on Saturday September 21st.
