Carol Rose Winters

Carol Rose (Haas) Winters, age 77, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Sanford Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. 

Carol Haas was born in  Albert Lea, MN, on October 30, 1946, to Peter and Rose (Matzke) Haas, and graduated from Albert Lea High School. Carol married Bruce Winters on July 15, 1972, and moved to Park Rapids in 1975.  She was an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church where she was in the music ministry.  She also loved theater and was a performer for the Woodtick Theater in Akeley, MN, for over 20 years. 

Carol is lovingly remembered by her daughters:  Beth (Steve Hill) Brennan, Cassandra (Royal) Booker, and Jill (Jeff Arnold) Winters; 4 grandchildren; 1  great-grandchild and 1 on the way; 2 stepdaughters, Jennifer (Mark) Meagher and  Janelle (Aaron) Johnson; 3 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Kathryn Pestorious; as well as many friends and relatives. 

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Winters; her parents; and brothers, Francis and Frederick Haas.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Park Rapids, MN, with a time for visitation 1 hour before.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM at the Jones Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN, with a prayer service at 7 PM.
