AUDREY THERESE EISCHENS September 11, 1942 – May 9, 2021 Audrey Therese Eischens, age 78, a long time Two Inlets, MN area resident, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday, May 9th, 2021 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids. Audrey was born on September 11, 1942 at St. Barnabas Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to John and Regina (Kuchinski) Kolarsky. She attended the New Brighton Elementary School through the 4th grade and then attended St. John The Baptist Catholic School through the eighth grade. She graduated from Moundsview Senior High School with the Class of 1959. After her graduation, Audrey gained employment with the Honeywell Corp. in Mpls. In 1960, she ventured north to Two Inlets where her parents had retired to a small farm on Two Inlets Lake. It was there that she met her soulmate and future husband, Leonard Nicholas Eischens. They were united in marriage on June 9, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Two Inlets. Their union was blessed with seven children: Gregory, Jeannette, Monica, Barbara, Brian, Christopher, and Angela. Audrey devoted herself to making a loving home for her husband and quiver plus full of children. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious sour dough breads and other recipes. Audrey was very talented and artistic with crafts. She loved to quilt and many products of her handwork were given as gifts to family and friends. She was a talented seamstress who made many bridesmaid dresses throughout her lifetime. Audrey also spent many nights working late into the night sewing clothes for her children. She also baked and decorated many wedding cakes to make the special day of many a young couple just a little more memorable. When her youngest child, Angie began kindergarten, Audrey immediately fulfilled a lifelong dream by enrolling in the LPN program at the Detroit Lakes Community College. After completing this educational program, Audrey began her nursing career with both the Heritage Living Center and the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids. While working full time, Audrey took night classes offered from the Thief River Falls Community College to earn her Registered Nurse degree. As an R.N., Audrey especially enjoyed working as an O.B. nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she helped bring many babies into the world. She retired from full time nursing in 2006; but, continued working part- time in home health care until retiring in full in 2017. One of her favorite hobbies was working in her garden raising beautiful flowers into colorful splendor and her delicious vegetables into fruitful abundance. She especially loved to fish off the dock on her beloved Two Inlets Lake. Her life was deeply saddened at the loss of her soulmate and husband, Leonard on October 1, 2018. Audrey was a longtime and faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she served on the Women’s Auxiliary and in the ministry of the Martha Club; as well as being active in the church liturgy and choir. She will be long remembered for her deep compassion, unconditional love, her creativity, her long patience and her stubborn perseverance. She was always happiest when her family was all together. She will be lovingly remembered by her seven children: Gregory (Lorrie) Eischens of Plymouth, IA, Jeannette (Richard) DeWandeler of Andover, MN, Monica (Ken) Kunkel of Buffalo, MN, Barbara (Keith) Gunter of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Brian (Heidi) Eischens of Andover, Christopher (Susan) Eischens of New Folden, MN and Angela (Shawn) Solland of Molt, MT; 23 dearly loved grandchildren and 17 precious great grandchildren; her brother, Donald (Carol) Kolarsky of Two Inlets; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; great grandson, Lucas Mikesh; her brother David Kolarsky and her sister, Jeanette Kolarsky. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, May 14, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Two Inlets with Father Tom Friedl officiating. The organist will be Rachel Thielen. The casket bearers and honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, May 13th with a Rosary service at 6:30 PM at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids .
