ANNA ISOBEL “Izzi” WISURI

March 10, 1935 – December 26, 2019

     Anna Isobel “Izzi” Wisuri, age 84, of Menahga, MN, passed into eternal life Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home, Menahga, MN with her husband George by her side.

     Anna was born March 10, 1935 in Gay, Michigan to Felix and Anna (Lassila) Ruonavaara.  She graduated from Calumet High School in 1953.  Anna married George Wisuri in 1956 and they enjoyed a love-filled marriage that lasted 64 years.  Anna enjoyed being a mother and working as an executive secretary for a large appraisal firm in downtown Minneapolis for 34 years.  She loved to cook, bake and build complex puzzles.  Anna also loved to socialize with many family members and close friends.  She was very outgoing and was able to lead a normal lifestyle even though she was diagnosed with MS at an early age.  Her quick wit and jokes entertained many.

     Anna is survived by her husband George Wisuri of Menahga, MN; her son, Jeff Wisuri of Golden Valley, MN; granddaughter, Sophia Wisuri of Golden Valley, MN; sisters: Luella Grangroth of Buffalo, MN, and Mary Skoog of Cokato, MN; and brother, Nathan Ruonavaara of Laurium, Michigan.

     Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Anna Ruonavaara; sisters: Helen Kariniemi and Julia Holman; and brother, Quentin Ruonavaara.

     Visitation will be held 1:30 PM, January 11, 2020 at the Laestadian Lutheran Church, Menahga, MN followed by the funeral service at 2:30 PM.  Casket bearers will be Jeff Wisuri, Edwin Ruonavaara, Ben Erickson, Tom Wisuri, Tom Skoog, and Jon Erickson.
