FUNERAL SERVICES: 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids VISITATION: one hour prior to the service at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home on Monday INTERMENT: Henrietta Cemetery STEVE SITZNovember 10, 1954 " July 16, 2008 Steve Sitz, age 53 of Park Rapids, MN, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Innovis Hospital in Fargo , ND . Steve was born on November 10, 1954 , the youngest of seven children, to Ernest and Violet (Archibald) Sitz in Park Rapids. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. Upon graduation from the Park Rapids high school, he joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany . He remained there for several years following his honorable discharge, working as a mechanic. Returning to Park Rapids, he then joined the Minnesota National Guard and was later deployed to Desert Storm. His combined 16 years of faithful service to his country made him proud of his accomplishments, metals and certificates that he earned. Steve was employed with Kostal Ford as a service advisor and later was employed by various employers, including working with his father doing masonry work. Steve loved to talk and never ran out of stories to tell. You often saw Steve with his little dog Pe"pe as well his friend, Dwight. Fishing, hunting, along with his admiration for and participation in music was the circle of his life. He loved his drums and harmonica and poured his heart into playing them. He is survived by 3 sisters: LaVonne Edelman of Lake George , MN , Janiece Hitter of Milton-Freewater , Oregon and Hey! Jane (Dave) Rautio-Beck of Park Rapids; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers: Chuck, David and Tom Sitz. Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with Reverend Loren Ferch officiating. Interment will be made in the Henrietta Cemetery in Henrietta Township , MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home on Monday.
