VISITATION: 5-8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 15, 2008 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery ANNA ALICE FIX January 31, 1918 - January 8, 2009Anna Alice Fix, age 90, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2009 with her daughter, Patty at her side at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids. Anna was born on January 31, 1918 in Orange County, California to Ivan and Josephine (Eklund) Park. It was in this area that she attended public school, graduating from the Orange Public High School with the class of 1936. Anna was united in marriage to Roman F. Fix in 1940. This marriage was blessed with two daughters: MaryAnn and Patty and 2 sons: Babe and Gene. The young family made their home in California. Anna devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her family. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls and homemade breads. She looked forward each spring to planting a large vegetable garden which she would nurture into fruitful abundance to can for the needs of her growing family. She also enjoyed sewing clothes for the children, crochet, made quilts and many other gifts for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Finland with her daughter, Patty. Later, they ventured east to Minnesota where Anna has made her home up to the present time. Early in her life, Anna worked as a cook in a rest home in Santa Anna, California and also as a presser for a dry cleaner in California. After moving to Park Rapids, She worked as a seamstress at the Ringer Plant in Park Rapids for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roman in 1986. For the past several years, Anna had made her home at the Summerfield Place Apartments in Park Rapids before failing health had caused her to become a resident of Heritage Living Center. She will be lovingly remembered by her 4 children: MaryAnn Mills of Roanoke, Va, Babe (Susie) Fix of Columbus, GA, Gene Fix of Park Rapids and Patty Dudley of Nevis, MN; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary (Kieth) Garrett of Orange, CA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers: Arvo Park and George Park. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 15, 2008 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 P.M. with Reverend Russ Paulson officiating. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN in the spring of 2009.
