FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the St. John"s Lutheran Church in Park Rapids VISITATION: 5-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home REVEREND KARL B. STROMING December 27, 1925 " January 29, 2009Karl Bertram Stroming, age 83, of Lake Emma Twp., Hubbard Co., MN, fell to sleep in the arms of Jesus, at his home on Thursday, January 29th. He was born December 27, 1925 to Carl and Myrtle Stroming in Little Falls, MN. He resided in Fort Ripley, then Watertown, MN in his early years. He attended Concordia Academy and Concordia College in St Paul, MN and Concordia Seminary, St Louis, MO. His vicarage was completed in Bear Creek, WI. He was the shepherd for congregations in Onarga, IL, Bagley, MN, Ottertail, MN, Fort William Ontario Canada, and Immanuel Fish Lake, Prior Lake, MN. He married Marion (Steinhorst) June 14, 1954. They were blessed with 5 children: C. Randy (Linda) Stroming, Anoka, MN, Diann "DeeDee" (Duane) Tweeten, Brookfield WI, Gloria (Dave) Pautz, Prior Lake, MN, Tim (Chris) Stroming, Waconia, MN, Ted (Corinna) Stroming, Hutchinson, MN. He was a prayer warrior for his 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his only sibling Ardith Schlauderaff. After retirement, Karl fulfilled his life long dream to reside in northern MN on the shores of Stocking Lake. He and Marion were members of First English Lutheran Church, Dorset, the Lake Association, and the Mantrap Valley Conservation Club. He loved telling stories, hiking in the woods, hunting and sports. He is known for shaking hands and greeting people everywhere he went, telling people about Jesus and praying. Well done, good and faithful servant. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the St. John"s Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN with Reverend Chris Davis officiating. Casket bearers will be Karl"s Grandsons: David Jr Pautz, Darren Pautz, Dan Pautz, Tyler Stroming, Nate Tweeten, Robbie Kelly, Lee Stapf. Connie Shubert will be the organist. Congregational hymns will be "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" & "My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less". Special music will be led by Karl"s family. A luncheon will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend. Visitation will be held 5-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home on Tuesday.
