FUNERAL SERVICES: Memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 P.M. at the Heritage Living Center Chapel on Monday, February 9 VISITATION: one hour prior to the service WINIFRED C. "WYNN" JENKINS March 12, 1915 ~ January 30, 2009Winifred C. "Wynn" Jenkins, age 93 of Park Rapids, MN formerly of Albuquerque, NM, passed away at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, MN on Friday January 30, 2009. Wynn was born on March 12, 1915 to Martin and Della Schneider in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin. She graduated from Linden High School in Linden, Wisconsin. Wynn went on to attend La Crosse State Teachers College. She was united in marriage to Bud Jenkins on September 1, 1935 in Freeport, IL. Their union was blessed with two daughters: Judy and Jeanne. The young couple made their first home in Horeb, WI where Wynn worked beside her husband, Bud at the Jenkins Meat Market. In 1951 they moved to Park Rapids, MN. Wynn took great pride in providing a loving home for her family. She enjoyed raising a garden to share with family and friends and crocheting many various items. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM. In 1965 Bud and Wynn moved to Bismarck, ND where they operated a Volkswagen Dealership and Wynn worked as the bookkeeper until they retired. In 1987 they moved to Albuquerque, NM. In October of 2002 Wynn moved back to Park Rapids into Heritage Living Center. Wynn is survived by two daughters, Judy (Jim) Theisen of Park Rapids, Jeanne Hanson of Rio Rancho, NM; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Bill Proudfoot and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Wilma Schneider; husband Bud in 1997; granddaughter, Elizabeth Theisen; sister, Bette Proudfoot; and son-in-law, Wayne Hanson. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 P.M. at the Heritage Living Center Chapel on Monday, February 9, 2009 with Father Thomas Friedl officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be made in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Cemetery.
