NAONTO "Notty" SYLVESTER December 12, 1916 ~ April 6, 2009 Naonto "Notty" Sylvester, age 92, of Perrysburg, Ohio, formerly of Park Rapids, MN, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Manor of Perrysburg. Notty was born on December 12, 1916 in Paulding County, Ohio to Delbert and Lillian (White) Venderly. In 1936, Notty was united in marriage to Ed Sylvester. This union was blessed with three children: Zonnie Lou, Donald Edward and Maurice Doyle. This young family lived in Indiana until 1951 when they purchased Round Bay Resort on 3rd Crow Wing Lake. After selling the resort, they enjoyed living on the lake for several years until moving to Park Rapids in 1992. Notty moved to Ohio in 2005. The Park Rapids Senior Citizens Club was an important part of Notty"s retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, crocheting, fishing and gardening. Notty will be lovingly remembered by her children: Zonnie (Jim) Sell of Perrysburg, Ohio, Donald (Connie) Sylvester of Sanford, North Carolina and Maurice (Joanne) Sylvester of Park Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; 1 sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids with Reverend Don Bird officiating. Casketbearers will be: Wayne Schroeder, Erv Melchert, Dennis Bolton, Edward Bolton, Floyd Frank and Mark Frank. A luncheon will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids. Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
