EVA MARIE LOF April 24, 1906 " July 6. 2009 Eva Marie Lof, age 103 a long time Park Rapids/Nevis, MN area resident, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on Monday morning, July 6, 2009. Eva was born on April 24, 1906 in Galena, IL to Elmer and Josephine (Warmath ) Sisco. As a girl, she ventured with her family to the Park Rapids, MN area where she attended country school at Emmaville. On December 30, 1922, Eva was united in marriage to Edwin Alex Lof. This union was blessed with five children: Roger, Dorothy, Clifford "Kip", Lorraine and Marlene. She and Edwin owned and operated Lof Lumber Company in Nevis for many years. Eva devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She loved to sew for her daughters and made many dresses for them to wear to school and church. Each spring, Eva looked forward to planting a large vegetable garden which she would nurture into fruitful abundance to meet the needs of her growing family. Eva was talented in working on crafts of all kinds and for many years was involved with the Hobby Shop in Nevis and Park Rapids. She enjoyed embroidering and crocheting over the years. Eva was a woman of Faith, who was an active member of the Church of Christ in Nevis, the Missionary Society and the Nevis Study Club. Her life was deeply saddened by the death of her husband in 1992 and her son Roger in 1988. Eva will be lovingly remembered by her son, Clifford E. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, her son, Roger Lof, her parents, three brothers, one sister, and two great grandsons. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Church of Christ in Nevis, MN with T. Wayne Douglas officiating. The vocalists will be Bill and Jan Lundsten who will sing, "Precious Lord Take My Hand" & "Amazing Grace". The organist will be Lynn Rittgers. Congregational hymns will be: "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross". The casketbearers will be her grandsons: Terry Sonnack, Michael Sonnack, Mark Terlson, Brad Terlson, Eugene Lof, Gregory Lof, Steven Lof and Rodney Lof. The honorary casketbearers will her grand daughters: Joan Moore, Coleen Kerchner, Connie Swan, Nancy Condon, Jan Ward, Jane Shortridge and Julie Shortridge. Interment will be made next to her husband in the Lake Emma Cemetery. Following the services a luncheon will be hosted by the Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 4PM to 7PM on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and again on Friday beginning one hour prior to the services at the church.
