DELORES E. WOLFE March 18, 1923 - July 22, 2009 Delores E. Wolfe, age 86, of Menahga, MN, formerly of Park Rapids, MN, went to be with her lord and savior on July 22, 2009 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga. Delores E. Wolfe was born on March 18, 1923 in Freeport, MN to William and Mary (Theisen) Klier. It was in the Park Rapids, MN area that she attended public school and grew into womanhood. As a young woman, Delores ventured to Fargo, ND where she gained employment working in a hospital. Later she worked as a baker in the baking department of a Fargo grocery store. During World War II, Delores worked as a seamstress sewing ammunition pouches and bed rolls. In 1945, she moved with a friend to Minneapolis, MN where she found a job as a seamstress for Bloch and Heller making shirts. Later, she worked for Philcraft making mens overcoats. In the early 1970's Delores began working for Control Data as an assembler of computers and related components. On October 1, 1966, Delores was united in marriage to Arthur Edgar "Bill" Wolfe in Minneapolis. They made their home in Minneapolis until moving to their home on Island Lake north of Park Rapids in 1985. Delores enjoyed her retirement by watching and feeding the birds that graced their property, ice fishing, and reading. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will long be remembered for her delicious baked beans, potato salad, roast turkey and mashed potatoes. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. For 12 years, she and Bill enjoyed wintering in Arizona. She was deeply saddened by the death of her husband in 2005. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sisters: Sister Flora Klier of Crookston, MN; Mathilda Kleinman of Mpls.; and her brother, Marcellus "Corky" and his wife, Dorothy Klier of Little Falls, MN; her step-daughter, Billie Lynn Turner of Reno, NV; as well as a host of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents. Memorial mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, MN with Father Thomas Friedl officiating. St. Peters Alleluia Choir will lead the music. Honorary casketbearers will be: Kirky Otto, Bill & Marcy Day, JoAnn Leek and Barbara Johnson. A luncheon will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be made with her husband Bill in the St. Mary"s Catholic Cemetery in Two Inlets, MN.
