SURVIVORS : She will be lovingly remembered by her four surviving children: Ann Wiest Eddy Aas of Tacoma, WA, Alan (Holly) Aas of Nevis, MN; Amy (John) Wargo of San Diego, CA and Arlene (Jim) Christopher of Fargo; as well as her three much loved grandchildren: Christopher and Michael Wiest and Kirby Christopher. DORIS MAE OLIVER AAS February 12, 1924 " August 10, 2009 Doris Mae Oliver Aas, age 85, of Fargo, North Dakota passed away peacefully at her home in Fargo with her loved ones at her side on Monday, August 10, 2009. Doris was born on February 12, 1924 in Rugby, North Dakota to Clarence and Mabel (Moe) Oliver. She attended public school in Rugby, North Dakota where she graduated from high school with the Class of 1942. She went on to attend North Dakota State University in Fargo where she earned her degree in teaching and later received her Masters. Right out of college, Doris began a teaching career that spanned 40 years. She married Ralph Aas and they were blessed with five children: Ann, Alan, Amy, Arlene and John. Doris loved living her life throughout North Dakota. She loved the rich history and the people of her home state. She enjoyed teaching, traveling, following her favorite hockey and basketball teams and especially treasured time spent with her family. Throughout her life, Doris"s faith was very important to her. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the Episcopal Church. She will be lovingly remembered by her four surviving children: Ann Wiest Eddy Aas of Tacoma, WA, Alan (Holly) Aas of Nevis, MN; Amy (John) Wargo of San Diego, CA and Arlene (Jim) Christopher of Fargo; as well as her three much loved grandchildren: Christopher and Michael Wiest and Kirby Christopher. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her youngest son, John.
