FUNERAL SERVICES : 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, MN with Reverend Clyde Allebach officiating.VISITATION : Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.INTERMENT : Menahga City Cemetery.SURVIVORS : His memory will be forever cherished by his sons: Patrick (Linda) Jones and Byron (Jeni) Jones all of Menahga; his daughter, Christina (Scott) Wolf of Eagle Bend, MN; his seven grandchildren: Branden, Toby, Kirsten, Shyanne, Savanna, Hunter and Tabitha; his two sisters: Marylou (Walter) Sharp of Proctor, MN and Carol Worms of Deer Creek, MN; two brothers: Dale (Janice) Jones and Phillip (Charlene) Jones all of Sebeka; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. ROBERT J. JONES February 7, 1949 " September 15, 2009 Robert J. Jones, age 60 a long time resident of Menahga, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital following a massive stroke he had suffered several days earlier. Robert was born on February 7, 1949 in Baldwin, WI to Varlyn and Myrtle (Miller) Jones. While a small boy, Robert moved with his family to Windom, MN where they made their home for several years. In 1955, the Jones family ventured northward to a farm near Sebeka, MN. It was there that Robert began his public school education. At the tender age of 12, he endured the grief following the death of his mother. Shortly thereafter, Robert"s family moved to Menahga, MN where they resided for several years until returning to the Windom area where he grew into early manhood and attended the Mankato Vocational-Technical College and studied small engine mechanics. In 1973, Robert was united in marriage to Carol Ann Voelker. This union was blessed with four children: Patrick, Byron, Craig and Christina. In 1978, they moved to Menahga, MN where Robert gained employment at the Cheese Plant in Sebeka. In addition, Robert had spent much of his working life self-employed with his own small engine repair business. He loved the out of doors; especially when he could be camping, fishing or hunting with his family. Robert was a gifted story teller who loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed bon fires and performing his famous "raindance". On August 25 Robert suffered numerous small strokes until suffering a massive stroke from which he could not recover on Friday, September 11. Robert will always be remembered for his quick wit, his warmth and his devotion to his family who he loved with all his heart. His memory will be forever cherished by his sons: Patrick (Linda) Jones and Byron (Jeni) Jones all of Menahga; his daughter, Christina (Scott) Wolf of Eagle Bend, MN; his seven grandchildren: Branden, Toby, Kirsten, Shyanne, Savanna, Hunter and Tabitha; his two sisters: Marylou (Walter) Sharp of Proctor, MN and Carol Worms of Deer Creek, MN; two brothers: Dale (Janice) Jones and Phillip (Charlene) Jones all of Sebeka; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Robert was preceded in death by his infant son, Craig; his parents and one brother, Wayne. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, MN with Reverend Clyde Allebach officiating. Special music will be "When I Get To Where I"m Going", "I Can Only Imagine" and "Waltz Across Texas." Casketbearers will be Darryl Sharp, Michael Goldie, Steven Goldie, Jesse Jones, Byron Jones, and Pat Jones. Honorary casketbearers will be Christine Wolf, Scott Wolf, Linda Jones, and Jeni Jones. Interment will be made in the Menahga City Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the Redeemer Lutheran Church following the committal service for all to attend. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
