Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Minnetrista Baptist Church in St. Bonifacius, MN with Pastor Wayne Colburn officiating.INTERMENT : Following the memorial service Saturday, November 7, 2009 in the Minnetrista Baptist Church Cemetery in St. Bonifacius, MN.SURVIVORS : Roy will be survived by and missed by his loving wife, Dorothy; brothers and sisters: Ralph (Ralcie) and Victor Krotzer and Helen Magnuson; sister in law, Carol Krotzer; children: Jeffery (Beverly) Johnson, Marjorie (Irvin) Geffre, Bruce (Lauri) Johnson; grandchildren: Kimberly (Sean) Carroll, Stefanie (Jason) Huessmann, Laura Geffre, Benjamin Geffre; great grandchildren: Kieran Carroll and Noah and Aidan Huessmann; many nieces, nephews and friends. ROY WILLIAM KROTZER June 6, 1925 - October 28, 2009 Roy William Krotzer, passed away on October 28, 2009. Roy was born June 6, 1925 in Minnetrista, MN, to Alonzo and Mary Maas Krotzer. Roy attended the Mound School graduating from Mound High School with the class of 1943. He attended Minnesota School of Business after serving in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Lawton, WA. Roy worked at several manufacturing plants in the Twin Cities area in accounting and management. In 1952, Roy worked as operational General Manager at Glacier National Park in Montana which was then owned by The Great Northern Railroad. This was a highlight of his life. He was there until 1958. He then returned home to work with his Dad in the building business. Roy entered the manufacturing industry in the managing and accounting capacity, working at various companies. Roy was employed with the R.R. Howell Company where he worked for 28 years before retiring in 1990. In 1977, Roy was united in marriage to Dorothy Westby Johnson at the Minnetrista Baptist Church where Roy had been a member his entire life. They lived in Mound until 1979 when they made their home in Buffalo for 12 years. They attended the Buffalo Covenant Church where they acquired many good friends. During these years they became involved in collecting and selling antiques at Annie"s Attic where they made more lifetime friends. The Krotzer"s retired to their lake home in Nevis, MN on Lake Belle Taine in 1992. They attended Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids. Roy and Dorothy continued in the antique business at Danny"s and later at Someone"s Attic which is where their talents and love for antiques can still be found. Roy enjoyed singing and playing the piano with his family and in the choir. He enjoyed all activities at the lake including fishing, gardening, playing games and spending time with friends and family; especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking and staying politically informed. Throughout their married life, they took many lovely vacations which Roy enjoyed immensely. Roy and Dorothy spend a few months each winter in CasaGrande, Arizona at Sunscape RV Resort where Roy was involved in choir and activities in a fun, loving community of friends. Roy"s parents and brothers Alvin and Clarence and sister Marva Colburn preceded him in death. Roy will be survived by and missed by his loving wife, Dorothy; brothers and sisters: Ralph (Ralcie) and Victor Krotzer and Helen Magnuson; sister in law, Carol Krotzer; children: Jeffery (Beverly) Johnson, Marjorie (Irvin) Geffre, Bruce (Lauri) Johnson; grandchildren: Kimberly (Sean) Carroll, Stefanie (Jason) Huessmann, Laura Geffre, Benjamin Geffre; great grandchildren: Kieran Carroll and Noah and Aidan Huessmann; many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids with Rev. Marty Giese officiating. A luncheon will be hosted by the ladies of Faith Baptist at the church following the service for all to attend. Psalm 62:1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my Salvation.
