INTERMENT : Spring of 2010SURVIVORS : Susan is survived by her husband of 30 years, Thomas Pucci of Park Rapids; Susan"s son, Erik Burlingame of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her daughter, Judy Burlingame of New Castle, Colorado; 3 granddaughters: Tamiye, Sachi and Sasha; and her caregiver, Dorine Tapio of Menahga. Susan was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Peter Burlingame. PROFESSOR SUSAN L. PUCCI January 19, 1933 " December 12, 2009Professor Susan L. Pucci, age 76, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully Friday, December 11, 2009 at St. Joseph"s Area Health Services in Park Rapids. Susan was born January 19, 1933 to Perry Neil and Iola Marie (Svihowe) Johnson in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up and attended school in Stillwater, MN. She completed a Bachelor"s Degree in Education from the University of Minnesota where she went on to complete a master"s degree in education and later a master"s degree in reading from the University of Northern Colorado. During her career, she taught at the primary, secondary and college levels. Susan was a longtime summer resident of the Park Rapids area starting in 1936 and continued with her eventually making this her fulltime home in 1999. Susan was a devoted wife, mother, teacher and community volunteer. She was a wonderful chef, nature enthusiast and avid traveler. She loved to explore other cultures and meet new people. Susan was also blessed with a great sense of humor. Susan is survived by her husband of 30 years, Thomas Pucci of Park Rapids; Susan"s son, Erik Burlingame of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her daughter, Judy Burlingame of New Castle, Colorado; 3 granddaughters: Tamiye, Sachi and Sasha; and her caregiver, Dorine Tapio of Menahga.
