FUNERAL SERVICES :A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN with Pastor Glenn M. Anderson officiating.VISITATION : will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.INTERMENT :SURVIVORS : LeRoy is lovingly missed by his wife Kathleen; daughter, Michelle (John) Beyer of West Fargo, ND; son, Michael of Park Rapids, MN; three grandchildren: Eric, Sarah and Beth Beyer of West Fargo, ND; his sister, Claryce Swanson of Fargo, ND; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Gregerson and Mary Burris as well as two aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. LEROY ALAN NATER March 10, 1945 ~ December 19, 2009 LeRoy Alan Nater, age 64 of Park Rapids, MN and Tucson, AZ passed away unexpectedly at his winter home in Tucson on Saturday, December 19, 2009. LeRoy was born on March 10, 1945 in Sisseton, SD to Laurence and Sophie (Veflin) Nater. He graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1963. LeRoy continued his education attending Wahpeton State School of Science and graduating from the University of North Dakota in 1967. On June 14, 1967, LeRoy married Kathleen Cook at Bethel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, ND. This union was blessed with two children: Michelle and Michael. LeRoy, upon graduating from college, worked for a short time as Credit Sales Manager with Goodyear in Dickinson, ND and Watertown, SD. He then went to work for J.C. Penney in management, where he worked for 23 years, last being manager in Dickinson, ND. In 1991, LeRoy decided to leave Penney"s and move to Park Rapids. He worked for Century 21 for a short time, then LeRoy and Kathleen purchased the Chilly Pepper Restaurant which they operated for five years and then sold the property. He worked for RDO and RDO Farms for 12 years until 2009. LeRoy and Kathleen were able to enjoy two wonderful winters in Tucson before his passing away. He loved the retirement park, the "hot tubs", hiking, biking, taking pictures and he had just started bowling. LeRoy loved visiting with people, especially if the conversation was financial or political. He loved the North Shore of Lake Superior, which LeRoy and Kathleen visited many times throughout the spring, summer and fall. Something LeRoy liked saying was "Life Is Good". LeRoy was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids and attended Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Tucson. LeRoy is lovingly missed by his wife Kathleen; daughter, Michelle (John) Beyer of West Fargo, ND; son, Michael of Park Rapids, MN; three grandchildren: Eric, Sarah and Beth Beyer of West Fargo, ND; his sister, Claryce Swanson of Fargo, ND; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Gregerson and Mary Burris as well as two aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Gary. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN with Pastor Glenn M. Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church. A luncheon will follow at the church for all to attend.
