FUNERAL SERVICES : A Private family service will be heldVISITATION :INTERMENT :SURVIVORS :Survived by 3 sisters (June Utley, Margie Mckinney, Mary Duffy) and 2 brothers (Joe & Howard Wilkes). Norm is also survived by his three children from his 1st marriage (Lisa Wilkes-Barber, Karen Nudell, Russell Wilkes) & 4 grandchildren along with 3 Step Children (Linda Larson, Sandy Pollreisz and Jim Jamrose) & 4 step-grandchildren . NORMAN RAY WILKES September 16, 1939 ~ February 22, 2010 Norman Ray Wilkes also know at "Stormin Norman" to his friends and "Willy" to his military buddies, passed away Feb 22, 2010 at the age of 70 at home in Walker, MN after fighting a short, but courageous battle with cancer and receiving loving care from his wife of 28 years (Joanne Wilkes) and his nephew (Dr. Loren Wilkes). He is the 6th of 7 children born in Isle, MN to Ruth & Ray Wilkes. Survived by 3 sisters (June Utley, Margie McKinney, Mary Duffy) and 2 brothers (Joe & Howard Wilkes). Norm is also survived by his three children from his 1st marriage (Lisa Wilkes-Barber, Karen Nudell, Russell Wilkes) & 4 grandchildren along with 3 Step Children (Linda Larson, Sandy Pollreisz and Jim Jamrose) & 4 step-grandchildren . He served in the Navy 13+ years with several tours of duty in Vietnam receiving a Purple Heart in 1966. Norman had a passion for hunting, airplanes, country music, bird watching and growing roses. His sense of humor and wit will be missed always. A Private family service will be held.
