FUNERAL SERVICES : will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, Minnesota with Richard Salmela officiating.VISITATION : will be held from 11:00 A.M. " 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.INTERMENT : will be made at Alajoki Cemetery.SURVIVORS :Impi is survived by her children: May (Ernest) Koskela of Park Rapids, Ruth (Clifford) Ollanketo of Anoka, Hazel (David) Ruuska of Maple Grove, Robert (Judy) White of Park Rapids and Carol (Robert) Niemela of Menahga; her daughter-in-law, Betty White of Mountain Iron, MN; her 2 sisters: Sylvia Arola of Mountain Iron and Viola Schindeldecker of Park Rapids; her 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren who she loved deeply, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. IMPI ERKKILA WHITE November 27, 1919 ~ May 22, 2010 Impi Erkkila White, age 90, a resident of the Heritage House in Sebeka, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena, Minnesota. Impi was born to Tillie and Jake Erkkila in Hubbard County on November 27, 1919. She attended the Kuusi Country School near her home. Impi was united in marriage to Matt William White on September 13, 1937. They lived in the Menahga area where they farmed and raised six children. Impi devoted her life to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She was a wonderful cook and baker, who will be long remembered for her delicious Finnish flat breads. Her life was forever saddened by the death of her husband, Matt in 1964 and her son, John in 1998. Above all, Impi dedicated herself to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. Impi is survived by her children: May (Ernest) Koskela of Park Rapids, Ruth (Clifford) Ollanketo of Anoka, Hazel (David) Ruuska of Maple Grove, Robert (Judy) White of Park Rapids and Carol (Robert) Niemela of Menahga; her daughter-in-law, Betty White of Mountain Iron, MN; her 2 sisters: Sylvia Arola of Mountain Iron and Viola Schindeldecker of Park Rapids; her 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren who she loved deeply, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Impi is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Matt, her son, John; her 4 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, Minnesota with Richard Salmela officiating. Casket bearers will be; her grandsons: Steven Koskela, Brian Koskela, Kenneth White, Jeffrey White, Wade Ollanketo, Brent Ruuska, Mark Ruuska, Nathan Niemela and Bradley Niemela. Honorary casket bearers will be; her granddaughters: Sheryl Spies, Colleen Sjostrom, Beth Besonen, Sarah Johnson, Mary Nicholas, Susan Rivard, Tracy Fullington, Christine Kobs and Shelly Petersen. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be made at Alajoki Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Menahga Senior Citizens Center for all to attend following the interment at the Alajoki Cemetery.
