FUNERAL SERVICES :will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 9, 2010 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN with Reverend Stephen Norby officiating.VISITATION :will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.INTERMENT :SURVIVORS :Nick will be lovingly remembered by his wife and soul mate, Deborah of Park Rapids, MN; his four children from a previous marriage: Holly (Keith) Christopherson of Brandon, SD; Kirk (Katerin) Junge of Germany; Laura (Leray) Smith of Bixby, OK and Brenda (Chris) Calzo of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren (soon to be seven); two step-daughters: Gina (Bryan) Ford of Minneapolis, MN; Kelli (Doug) Van Winkle also of Minneapolis, MN; two nephews and one niece, as well as other relatives and friends. ALBERT NICHOLAS "NICK" JUNGE January 24, 1935 ~ July 3, 2010 Albert Nicholas "Nick" Junge, age 75 of Park Rapids, Minnesota, formerly a long time Sioux Falls, South Dakota resident, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 3, 2010 near his home on Big Mantrap Lake, north of Park Rapids. Nick was born on January 24, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN to Alton and Florence (Huselbus) Junge. He attended Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD, graduating with the class of 1952. Nick went on to attend the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, where he majored in finance and earned a Bachelors Degree in 1956. Nick began his career in banking working in Minnesota and then spent over 26 years working for the First National Bank in Sioux Falls, SD where he worked himself up in the commercial loan department to Vice President of commercial loans. He retired from a very satisfying career in 1998. On May 15, 1998, Nick"s life was made complete by marrying Deborah Joslyn Geuke. The two ventured to northern Minnesota where they made their home on Big Mantrap Lake, north of Park Rapids. Nick immersed himself in the outdoors. Each summer, he and Debbie took inventory of the lake"s loon population for the lake association. Nick loved animals; especially his dogs. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his membership in the Headwaters Country Club of Park Rapids to the fullest. Nick enjoyed the pristine beauty of Big Mantrap Lake and enjoyed fishing with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his wife and soul mate, Deborah of Park Rapids, MN; his four children from a previous marriage: Holly (Keith) Christopherson of Brandon, SD; Kirk (Katerin) Junge of Germany; Laura (Leray) Smith of Bixby, OK and Brenda (Chris) Calzo of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren (soon to be seven); two step-daughters: Gina (Bryan) Ford of Minneapolis, MN; Kelli (Doug) Van Winkle also of Minneapolis, MN; two nephews and one niece, as well as other relatives and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Aleen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 9, 2010 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN with Reverend Stephen Norby officiating. Mary Linder will be the organist and Pastor Norby will sing "Thy Will Be Done" and "On Eagles Wings". Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Casket bearers will be: Leray Smith, Doug Van Winkle, Bryan Ford, Bill White, Bob Carlson, Frank Ashenhurst and Lyle Evans. A luncheon will be served following the service for all.
