His three much loved grand daughters: Bryn, Kaelyn and Lae; his mother, Elsie Aho of Wolf Lake; six sisters: Eva (Larry) Salo of Greer, South Carolina, Elvie (Walter) Ketola of Ashboro, NC, Alice (Marc) Ruotsala of Ironwood, MI, Gladys (Jesse) Fraki of Ottertail, MN, Martha Aho of Detroit Lakes and Esther (Paul) Impola of Hillview, MN; six brothers: Elias (Hazel) Aho of Menahga; Raymond (Janet) Aho, Reino (Peggy) Aho, Joshua (Deborah)Aho, Harry (Lori) Aho and Harvey (Patricia) Aho all of Wolf Lake, MN as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. REUBEN ROBERT AHO April 14, 1947 " July 7, 2010 Reuben Robert Aho, age 63, a life long Wolf Lake area resident, went to be with the Lord, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, following a long battle against brain cancer. Reuben was born on April 14, 1947 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Hugo and Elsie (Kumma) Aho. It was in the Wolf Lake area that he attended country school and then went on to attend high school in Menahga where he graduated with the Class of 1965. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserves, completed his basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky and served for six years. Reuben engaged in farming with his dad and brothers on the family farm. On July 10, 1977 Reuben was united in marriage to Nola Sue Matson in an outdoor ceremony on the farm. This union has been blessed with eleven children. Reuben continued to farm with his brothers as a partner in Aho Brothers Dairy, until he retired in 2009 due to ill health. Reuben was a faithful life long member of the Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church near Wolf Lake. Reuben served as a member of the Wolf Lake Township Board and also as caretaker of the Balmi Cemetery for many years. He enjoyed deer hunting, ice fishing, wood-working, and gardening. Reuben will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nola; his three daughters: Krista (Jed) Estola of Ironwood, MI, Karen Aho and Marisa Aho at home; six sons: Randon (Tyra) Aho of Landrum, South Carolina, Reid (Ashley) Aho of Jaffrey, New Hampshire, Roy Aho, Rosten Aho, Rylan Aho and Raul Aho all at home. Reuben was preceded in death by his eldest son, Ross Reuben and his youngest daughter, Noelle Joy, as well as his father, Hugo Aho. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, MN. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 P.M., Friday, July 9, 2010 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Casket bearers will be Reuben"s sons and son-in-law: Randon Aho, Reid Aho, Roy Aho, Rosten Aho, Rylan Aho, Raul Aho and Jed Estola. Interment will be made at Balmi Cemetery, Wolf Lake, MN.
