FUNERAL SERVICES : 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN.VISITATION : One hour prior to service at the church.INTERMENT : Hay Creek Cemetery by Sebeka, MN SURVIVORS : His three sons: Steven (Mary) Lustila of Bluffton, MN, Eddie Lustila of Wadena, and Isaac Lustila of Deer Creek, MN; his daughter, Christina Lustila of West Virginia; his two precious grandchildren: Jared and Hazel; his mother, Lillian Lustila of Menahga; two sisters: Dorothy (Daniel) Anderson of Reedsburg, WI and Sharon (Dante) Kerby of Menahga; three brothers: Michael Lustila of Wadena, Russell Lustila of Menahga and Dan (Rachael) Lustila of Perham, MN as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. DOUGLAS PAUL "Doug" LUSTILAJune 22, 1966 " July 17, 2010 Douglas Paul "Doug" Lustila, age 44, of Menahga, MN, died unexpectedly at his logging job site on Saturday, July 17, 2010 near Perham, MN. Doug was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 22, 1966 to Roger and Lillian (Haverinen) Lustila. At a very young age Doug lost his father, also very unexpectedly as well as his brother, Steven. Doug"s mom raised her large family by herself and taught her children the value of good hard work and independence. It was in Menahga that Doug attended public school and grew into manhood. During highschool, he worked in the woods developing the skills he would hone to make logging a full time career. He also spent several years also working at the chipper mill in Wadena, MN. In June of 1988, Doug was united in marriage to Maryann Edwards at the Union Corners Church in Ottertail County. This union was blessed with three sons: Steven, Eddie and Isaac. Doug devoted himself to building his logging business. He enjoyed the fulfillment and satisfaction that working in the great out doors brought him. Doug was married to Tammy Clark in 2005. This marriage was blessed with a daughter, Christina. He enjoyed fishing and just spending time with his family. In his spare time Doug enjoyed reading and would walk miles each day. Above all, Doug devoted his life to his family who he loved with all his heart. He will be lovingly remembered by his three sons: Steven (Mary) Lustila of Bluffton, MN, Eddie Lustila of Wadena, and Isaac Lustila of Deer Creek, MN; his daughter, Christina Lustila of West Virginia; his two precious grandchildren: Jared and Hazel; his mother, Lillian Lustila of Menahga; two sisters: Dorothy (Daniel) Anderson of Reedsburg, WI and Sharon (Dante) Kerby of Menahga; three brothers: Michael Lustila of Wadena, Russell Lustila of Menahga and Dan (Rachael) Lustila of Perham, MN as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his father in 1971; his brother, Steven in 1968 and his brother, Patrick in 2007. Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the First English Lutheran Church in Menahga with the Reverend Steven Bruer officiating. The organist will be Barbara Ahl. Honorary casket bearers will be: Daniel Anderson, Dante Kerby, Shane Anderson, Jeremy Lustila, Josh Lustila, Joe Lustila and Dean Haverinen. Interment will be made in the Hay Creek Cemetery near Sebeka, MN. Friends may call at the church beginning one hour prior to the service.
