Earl Zimmerman December 26, 1937 ~ August 15, 2010Earl Walter Zimmerman died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at his summer home by Park Rapids, MN. Earl was born to Paul O. and Mary (Buntje) Zimmerman on December 26, 1937 in Morris, MN. He grew up in the Chokio and Graceville areas, graduating from Graceville High School in 1955. Earl received his bachelors of science degree in ag economics and animal science from the University of Minnesota in 1959. He attended graduate school for banking in Wisconsin, receiving his degree in 1968. On October 4, 1958, Earl married Arlene Petersen in Minneapolis, MN. The couple lived in Janesville and Monroe, WI where Earl was employed with Production Credit Association. He was then employed as the ag lender at Citizens Banks in Morris and Hutchinson and Integrity Bank Plus of Wabasso, from which he retired as president. Earl was active in civic organizations in each community the Zimmerman"s called home, including Jaycees, Kiwanis and Lions clubs, as well as various boards and agriculture associations. Earl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Arlene of Wabasso, MN; daughters: Deb (Bob) Mans of New Hope, MN, Diane Zimmerman (Mike Schad) of Roseville, MN; son, Alan Zimmerman of Sheboygan Falls, WI; grandchildren: Kelsey, Colleen, Maggie, Andrew and Will; brothers: Robert (Kathy) Zimmerman of Houston, TX, Delroy (Kathy) Zimmerman of Fergus Falls, MN; sisters: Marilyn (Melvin) Behrens of Graceville, Collette (Bill) Cox of Fergus Falls, MN and nine nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Virginia Zimmerman.
