RICHARD CURTIS "Linc" LINCOWSKINovember 4, 1944 " September 11, 2010 Richard Curtis "Linc" Lincowski, age 65 of Park Rapids, MN formerly of St. Paul and Clear Lake, MN, passed away at his home on Boot Lake west of Two Inlets, MN on Saturday, September 11, 2010, following a courageous five year battle against acute Lymphoma cancer. Linc was born on November 4, 1944 in St. Paul, MN to Edward and Marge (Price) Lincowski. He attended Catholic Schools in St. Paul, graduating from Cretin High School in 1962. He then went on to attend St. Paul Vocational-Technical College where he studied Electronics. Following his graduation, he gained employment with the Univac Corporation in 1964 as a field service engineer. On June 1, 1968, Linc was united in marriage to Melodie Lee Geer in New Hartford, New York. They were blessed with three sons: Curtis, Chad and Corey. Tragedy visited the Lincowski home in the drowning death of their 9 year old son Corey. In 1973, Linc moved with his family to Clear Lake, MN where he was promoted to the position where he was responsible for supporting the entire Minnesota State College Computer systems. Linc retired from his over 20 year career with Sperry-Univac in 1995. In 1997, he and Melodie moved to their lake home north of Park Rapids. In July of 1999, Linc and Melodie were drawn out of retirement to purchase and operate the Heartland Travel Agency in Park Rapids which they operated together until May of 2007. Linc enjoyed the out of doors and tinkering with snowmobiles and other mechanical equipment. He had a deep love for music. Above all, he devoted his life to his wife and sons who he loved with all his heart. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife for these past 42 years, Melodie; his two sons: Curtis of Cold Spring, MN and Chad (Stacie) of Pierz, MN; his two brothers: Steven (Vi) Lincowski of Woodbury, MN and Peter (Karen) Lincowski of Tucson, AZ; his sister, Shirley (Jim) McCarthy of Sioux Falls, SD; his sister-in-law, Linda Lincowski of Proctor, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Corey; and his brother, Edward. Private Family services are being planned.
