ARNE "Willie" IHMEJanuary 28, 1937 ~ September 20, 2010 Arne William "Willie" Ihme, age 73, a life long Menahga, MN area resident, was peacefully promoted into Glory, where his mind and body are fully restored by his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN. Arne was born on January 28, 1937 in Menahga, MN to Nels and Greta (Parvi) Ihme. Willie grew up on the family farm in Runeberg Township, west of Menahga and attended the District 61 Country School near his home. As a boy, he helped work on the farm and logged with his father in the woods near their home and as far away as Ely, MN. As a young man, Willie entered the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country until an injury caused him to be medically discharged. When Willie returned home, he ventured to Duluth where he worked for the railroad. As an energetic and promising young man of 21, Willie was involved in a terrible auto accident which caused a traumatic brain injury which changed his life dramatically. His handicap left him totally disabled and dependent on the care of others. His mother lovingly cared for Willie for many years. In 1986, he became a resident of the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN where he was made part of their warm and loving family until the time of his death. Willie never felt sorry for himself, but was quick to praise his Lord and Savior for saving his physical life and giving him Eternal Life. He will be lovingly remembered by his three sisters: Bea Goodmanson of Golden, CO, Shirley (Kenneth) Newhouse of Menahga, MN and Elaine (Russ) Jacob of Menahga, MN; two brothers: James of the Heritage Home in Sebeka, MN and Clifford (Doris) of Otsego, MN as well as many much loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
