FUNERAL SERVICES : 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN.VISITATION : 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, MN and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.INTERMENT : Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery, Menahga, MN.SURVIVORS : His three children: Katrice Lund of Osage, MN, Kelly (Romyn) Hanks of Detroit Lakes, MN and Edwin Curtis Lund of Menahga, MN; five grandchildren: Aleksander, Ashton, Olyvia, Carter and Eden; father, Edwin Lund of Menahga, MN; sister, Lynette (Bruce) Conmy of Detroit Lakes; four brothers: Albert of Menahga, MN, Timothy (Carolyn) of Rochert, MN, Randy (Shelly) of Callaway, MN and Christopher (Melissa) of Wadena, MN. CURTIS EDWIN LUNDOctober 4, 1958 ~ September 22, 2010 Curtis Edwin Lund, age 51, of Dilworth, MN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at his home in Dilworth, MN. Curtis was born on October 4, 1958 in Park Rapids, MN to Edwin and Beverly (Dormanen) Lund. It was in Menahga, MN that he spent the first two years of his life before his family moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. He attended the public schools in Detroit Lakes where Curt was active in athletics and was a standout center on the Detroit Lakes Lakers Hockey team. He also played baseball with the current reigning state champions, the Midway Snurdbirds for many years. Curt graduated from the Detroit Lakes High School with the class of 1977. He was united in marriage to Faye Dawn Odland "Punky" at the First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN in December of 1979. After high school, Curt began working as a sheet rocker and metal stud framer in a career that spanned over his entire life. Curt installed the first metal studs for framing in the Metrodome while working with his cousin, Leo. Most of his work was with his brothers, cousins and his son, Eddie. Curt was an avid Twins fan and never missed a game. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He loved music and enjoyed playing the Beatles music on his guitar. He loved classic cars and spoke fondly of his Charger and Mustang, his two favorites. Curt considered Menahga his home and lived on his farm there for many years. He will be lovingly remembered by his three children: Katrice Lund of Osage, MN, Kelly (Romyn) Hanks of Detroit Lakes, MN and Edwin Curtis Lund of Menahga, MN; five grandchildren: Aleksander, Ashton, Olyvia, Carter and Eden; father, Edwin Lund of Menahga, MN; sister, Lynette (Bruce) Conmy of Detroit Lakes; four brothers: Albert of Menahga, MN, Timothy (Carolyn) of Rochert, MN, Randy (Shelly) of Callaway, MN and Christopher (Melissa) of Wadena, MN as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly; his sister, Lila Jean who died in infancy and the love of his life, Punky. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN. Casketbearers will be: John Baso, George Baso, Linden Odland, Leo Tomperi, Terry Tomperi and Durwin Tomperi. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. " 7:00 p.m. at Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, MN and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery near Menahga, MN. A luncheon reception will be hosted following the funeral service by the First English Lutheran Church for all to attend.
