EDNA A. CONKLINMarch 3, 1922 ~ December 17, 2010 Edna A. Conklin, age 88 of Park Rapids, MN passed away peacefully on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the St. Joseph"s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN. Edna was born on March 3, 1922 near Park Rapids, MN to Carl and Dorothy (Fisher) Lindgren. She attended the Linnell Country School near her home. She was united in marriage to Clifford Conklin on June 19, 1938. This union was blessed with 6 children: Darell, Larry, Nancy, Wesley, Connie and Ricky. The young family made their home in the Ponsford/Osage area. Edna devoted her life to making a warm and loving home for her family. She will be long remembered for her delicious homemade breads. She was a strong matriarch who held the family closely together. During her life time she also helped with the family finances by cleaning resort cabins and working for the Ringer Manufacturing Company. In her quiet times she enjoyed doing embroidery, making quilts and gardening. Above all she devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Darell (Judy) Conklin of Mahnomen, MN, Nancy (Bart) Glatzmaier of Park Rapids, MN, Wesley (Deb) Conklin of Park Rapids, MN, Connie Keezer of Park Rapids, MN and Ricky Conklin also of Park Rapids, MN; 22 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Alton (Mina) Lindgren of Portland, Oregon; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; son, Larry; 3 brothers: Ralph, Orville and Alfred; 2 sisters: Norma and Joyce. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN with Reverend Marty Giese officiating. Casketbearers will be: Jill Larsen, Jessie Glatzmaier, Jordan Glatzmaier, Nick Keezer, Dustin Martine and Phillip Larsen. Honorary casketbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. " 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN. Interment will be made at the Linnell Cemetery near Ponsford, MN.
