SIGNE ALLI SANTIFebruary 3, 1922 ~ March 2, 2011 Signe Alli Santi, age 89 of Menahga, MN died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at St. Josephs Area Hospital in Park Rapids, MN. Signe was born on February 3, 1922 in Gackle, ND to Oscar and Alli (Salminen) Bohjanen. She grew up and attended school in Gackle and Deer River, MN. Signe worked in food service in the Mounds View School District and later at Sears Roebuck Co. in the drapery department until retirement. She was united in marriage to Eino Santi on February 22, 1942. They made their home in Shoreview, MN until retiring to their Spirit Lake home in Menahga in 1983. She was a lifetime member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting and volunteering at the Menahga Museum and at the Green Pine Acres Nursing home. Signe is survived by two daughters: Gladys (Curtis) Carlson of Waseca, MN and Verna Santi of Brooklyn Center, MN; four grandchildren, Sara Carlson (Tim ) Lewer of New Richland, MN, Major Glen (Cindy) Carlson of Corpus Christi, TX, Denise (Michael) Logas of Finlayson, MN, and Dana Santi of Zimmerman, MN; ten great grandchildren: Vanessa Logas, Casey Logas, Damien Logas, Kody Frenette, Austin Frenette, Katharine Lewer, Benjamin Lewer, Margaret Carlson, Winston Carlson, and James Carlson; one brother Elmer (Mary Jane) Bohjanen of Menahga, MN as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eino; brothers, William (Bill), Oswald (Ozzie), Waino; and an infant brother Sander. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Pickerel Lake Apostolic Lutheran Church. Casketbearers will be her grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until the time of service at the church. Interment will be made in the Menahga City Cemetery in the spring.
